Our Beliefs

  • The central purpose of God’s revelation in Scripture is to call people into fellowship with Him. Originally created to be in relationship with God, humans defied Him by going their own independent way, resulting in alienation from Him and the natural inability to please God. This fall took place at the beginning of human history; since then, all people have suffered the consequences of sin and are in need of the saving grace of God.
Salvation is a complete gift of free grace from God to humanity. Mankind can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can humans be saved from sin’s penalty. We receive this gift through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. Repentance means turning away from our sin and turning toward Christ. Faith means trusting in Christ alone for the forgiveness of our sins. Every person who truly is saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ and will spend eternity in heaven, while those who die in their sins will spend eternity in Hell separated from God.
    Romans 5:1; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6, John 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26.

  • A: ACCEPT that you are a sinner (Romans 3:23) and that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
B: BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died for your sins (Romans 5:8).
C: CONFESS Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life (Romans 10:9).

Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace you are saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.”

1 Corinthians 15:1-4, “Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

  • Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ. If you have made a genuine commitment of faith in Jesus, you cannot lose your salvation; It is secure. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. God’s grace and power enable us to persevere in faith until the end.

  • People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. Having rejected God, unbelievers will suffer eternal condemnation apart from Him. Believers will be received into eternal communion with God and will be rewarded for works done in this life. Eternal union with God is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. Death seals the eternal destiny of each person. All humanity will experience a bodily resurrection and a judgment that will determine the fate of each individual. John 3:16; 2:25; 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 18:8; Matthew 25:44, 46.

  • We believe there is one true, Holy God, Creator and Ruler of the universe – God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and are one God. God is perfect in His many attributes of holiness, love, power, knowledge, justice and mercy. In the beginning God demonstrated His power, wisdom, and goodness by creating the world and everything in it. Through His divine power and providence, God continues to sustain His creation – operating within history to fulfill His redemptive purposes. Genesis 1:1, 26-27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14

  • “The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us to do what is right.” 2 Timothy 3:15
Since God’s Word is the only completely reliable and truthful authority, we accept the Bible as our manual for living. The sole basis of our belief is the Bible—the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. Our first question when faced with a decision is “what does the Bible say?” We practice daily Bible reading, Bible study and Bible memorization. The Bible is the basis for all we believe.
We believe Scripture in its entirety originated with God and He revealed it to chosen authors. Scripture speaks with the authority of God while simultaneously reflecting the backgrounds, styles, and vocabularies of these human authors. We hold that the Scriptures, in their original manuscripts, are infallible and inerrant; they are the unique, full, and final authority on all matters of faith and practice. There are no other writings similarly inspired by God. It is the sole authority for life.

  • Jesus Christ, God’s son, was fully united with a human nature by a miraculous conception and virgin birth. He is co-equal with the Father and The Holy Spirit. He lived in perfect obedience to the Father, voluntarily paid the price for the sins of all people by dying on the cross as their substitute, and satisfied divine justice, bringing salvation to all who trust in Him alone. After His physical death, Jesus Christ rose from the dead after three days, and ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father as the only intercessor between God and humans. He promises to return to earth, personally and visibly as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, to fulfill history and the eternal plan of God. Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; John 14:10-30; John 14: 16-17; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13.

  • The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. He is the divine helper, assistant, counselor and instructor. The Holy Spirit guides believers in understanding and applying the Bible. Appropriated by faith, His power and guidance enable believers to lead a life of Christ-like character, doing what’s right, and bearing fruit for the Father’s glory. He is present in the world to make humanity aware of their need for Jesus Christ. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.2 Corinthians 3:17; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 1:13; 5:18; John 16:7-13; 14:16-27; 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; Galatians 5:25

  • We believe baptism is an ocular demonstration of God’s inward renewal in the life of the believer. Baptism by immersion best illustrates the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ on our behalf and our subsequent faith in Him. It is not necessary for salvation but is an act of obedience and is strongly associated with salvation, as it best demonstrates our new identity with Jesus Christ. A person must first exercise faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for their sins, was buried and rose from the dead. An infant or person who does not understand God’s plan of salvation cannot make that kind of commitment. The Scriptural order is belief first, followed by baptism. Baptism is limited to those who have personally believed in Jesus Christ as Savior.
    Mark 1:9-11; Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16 Acts 8:12; Matthew 3:13-17; Colossians 2:12 Acts 2:41, 8:12, and 10:47–4.,

  • The Lord’s Supper is an ordinance of the church. It was instituted when the Lord had the Passover meal before His crucifixion. Communion is "the believer's meal," a sacrament intended for Jesus' followers, by which they acknowledge and remember His work on the cross—the ultimate sacrifice made on our behalf for the forgiveness of the sins of humankind. It is a proclamation of His death and an assurance of His second coming. We ask only those who have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ to participate in the Lord’s Supper. The elements of bread and grape juice are used as symbols of Christ’s body that was broken and His blood that was shed in payment for our sins. 1 Corinthians 1:21-32; 1 Corinthians 5:11-13; Matthew 26:29

  • All who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are united with Him as members of His body, the one true church. The local expression of the church is wherever God’s people meet regularly in obedience to this command. Christ is the recognized head of our church, not any person, group, or religious organization. While recognizing the value of associating and cooperating with other groups of Christians, we believe every local church should be self-governing and independent from any denominational control. The church is a fellowship of regenerated men and women called out to live together in community life.
    Colossians 1:18. Acts 15

  • We believe man was created in the image of God. God breathed his life into man. As the supreme object of God’s creation, we were designed for dignity. However, Adam’s sin propelled the creation into a fallen state and plunged all his descendants into depravity. Mankind voluntarily rebelled against God and fell from a state of perfection, thereby experiencing separation from God. Consequently, all men are sinners. Thus, all of us are marred by rebellion and disobedience, which is called “sin,” toward God. Sin separates people from God and causes many problems in life. By choice, man is redeemable through Jesus Christ in his only hope to experience once again the peace of God.
